SoundWaves

SoundWaves is a smaller auditioned ensemble of a dozen singers drawn from the larger choir. They are featured in every concert and perform more challenging music - usually acapella - encompassing a wide variety of styles and periods, including madrigals, art songs, and contemporary works in varying languages.

This is a select group whose members must learn more music with fewer rehearsals, often singing from memory.

Our artistic director, Rhodd F. Caldwell, both directs and sings with SoundWaves, giving him a chance to utilize his vocal chops gleaned from years of study and performance.

If you’ve been following our group for a while you may remember Women of Note, our previous all-female octet. When we decided to “rebrand” the choir we realized we’d like to try various configurations of this group. And we felt the guys should get a chance to join in. We hope in future concerts to showcase more singers in lots of different groupings.
